Sustainability

Preserving the land that gives us life. Rooted in responsibility. Grown with intention.

At The Cork, sustainability is not a trend. It is a long-term commitment to the land, the people and the heritage that define our wines.
Each of our estates embraces practices that protect biodiversity, reduce environmental impact, and honour the pace of nature.
Because wine begins in the soil, and the future begins with how we care for it today.

Measures taken

We act consciously across our vineyards and accommodations to support a sustainable and regenerative future:

Sustainable building and energy choices in all guest properties (solar energy, passive cooling)

Organic viticulture at Quinta do Cardo and Alussia - no synthetic chemicals or irrigation

Integrated production at Quinta da Boa Esperança - minimal intervention, manual harvest

Water-saving systems, natural wastewater filtration and rainwater reuse

Preservation of local species and flora across all properties

Eco-friendly mobility - pedestrian-friendly access, e-bikes, low-impact trails

Use of local suppliers and seasonal produce for experiences

Sustainability is not an effort.

It is a way of listening to the land.
